How did Nutella get its name?

Nutella was originally called "pasta gianduja". The pasta part means paste, and the "gianduja" part is the name of a character famous in the region.  It was fisrt made in loaves of bread that would be used to make sandwiches.  Then they workers made it so it was easier to spread on breadand not made in it.  When they did that they changed the name to "supercrema gianduja".  Later on it finally was named Nutella in 1964.  The makers decided Nutella would be the with nut being the begining and "ella" being a nice ending.

What nutella is made of...

Nutella's main ingredients are hazelnut and cocoa, but there are more ingredients such as sugar, palm oil, skim milk, reducedminerals whey, lecithin as emulsifier (soy), vanillin (an artificail flavor).  There are 200 calories in a serving size which is 2 tablespoons.  Nutella is kosher and gluten free because it does not include the ingredients that are needed for something to be kosher of have gluten in it.  Also there are small amounts of caffeine in nutella becasue of the cocoa.
